Nope. SPF refers to sunscreen ratings while UPF is specific to sun protective clothing. SPF (Sun Protection Factor) rates protection from the UVB rays emitted by the sun. UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) measures the protection from both UVA and UVB rays that penetrate clothing. A UPF factor of 50 means that only 1 in 50 UV rays reaches your skin, so 98% protection.
